Hello

I'm Charlotte.

I'm a trauma-informed counsellor, facilitator and founder of Conscious Roots Counselling.  I support adults who are navigating anxiety, burnout, grief, major life transitions, caregiver stress and the exhaustion of holding everything together for everyone else.

My approach is compassionate, practical, somatic and rooted in the belief that you already carry wisdom within you.  Counselling is not about fixing who you are.  It is about creating enough safety, space adn support for you to reconnect with yourself, understand what is happening beneath the surface and begin moving forward in a way that feels sustainable.

My Story

Why I do this work

My own life has included many seasons of change, responsibility, grief, reinvention and growth.

Before becoming a counsellor, I spent years as a business owner, employer, community leader and mother.  I understand what it is like to carry a great deal, to keep functioning while feeling overwhelmed underneath, and to reach a point where the way you have always managed life no longer feels sustainable.

Those experiences shaped the way I work.

I do not believe healing requires you to become a different person. I believe it begins with understanding yourself more deeply, recognizing the patterns that once helped you survive and creating new ways of responding that feel more aligned with who you are now.

My own journey has also deepened my understanding of neurodivergence, masking, identity, burnout and the emotional cost of trying to meet expectations that do not fit.  This is one of the reasons I care deeply about creating a space where people do not have to perform, explain away their needs or make themselves smaller in order to belong.

What Counselling With Me Is Like

I offer a grounded, non-judgmental space where we can slow things down, make sense of what you are experiencing and identify practical ways forward.

Our work may include exploring:

  • Anxiety, stress and emotional overwhelm

  • Burnout and compassion fatigue

  • Grief, Loss and major life transitions

  • Caregiver stress and the weight of being the strong one

  • Boundaries, communication and relationship patterns

  • Neurodivergence, masking and late identification

  • Identity, Self-trust and personal sovereignty

  • Workplace stress, leadership pressure and entrepreneurship

  • Nervous-system regulation and sustainable coping tools

My approach is collaborative. You remain the expert on your own life.  I bring professional support, perspective, practical tools and a safe place to explore what may be difficult to carry alone.

My Approach

Trauma-Informed

We move at a pace that respects your history, capacity and sense of safety.

Somatic and nervous-system informed

We pay attention not only to your thoughts, but also to what your body and nervous system may be communicating.

Neurodiversity affirming

I support clients in understanding themselves without treating difference as something that needs to be corrected.

Gender affirming and inclusive

I welcome clients across diverse identities, relationships and lived experiences.

Compassionate and practical

Insight matters, but so do tools you can use in your everyday life.

Collaborative rather than perspective

Counselling is something we do together. You will not be told what your life should look like.

Professional Background

I am a Master Practitioner in Clinical Counselling-Provisional and hold both a Professional Counselling Diploma and a Life Skills Coaching Certificate. from Rhodes Wellness College.

In addition to individual counselling, I facilitate workplace wellness programs, support groups, retreats and educational workshops focused on stress, burnout, nervous-system regulation, boundaries, communication, leadership and resilience.

My previous experience as a business owner and team leader also gives me a practical understanding

of entrepreneurship, workplace pressure, staff development, financial responsibility and the challenge of caring for yourself while carrying responsibility for others.

You Do Not Have to Be In Crisis

You may be functioning on the outside while feeling exhausted, disconnected or uncertain underneath.  You may know that something needs to change, even if you cannot fully explain what change is yet.

You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out.

Counselling can be a place to pause, understand what is happening and begin finding a way forward that feels mroe like you.

In-person appointments are available in St. Pierre-Jolys, with virtual counselling available throughout Manitoba.
